More details have come out about the rape allegations against Chris Brown.

Chris Brown and two others are currently being held in custody in Paris, France after a woman filed a rape complaint, French officials said on Tuesday, Jan. 22, according to the Associated Press.

The singer was detained Monday, Jan. 21 on potential charges of aggravated rape and drug infractions. The woman who filed the complaint said she met Brown and his friends at club Le Crystal, and they all went to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel together.

One of the other persons being detained in the investigation is Brown’s bodyguard. Brown’s Sony Music publicist would not reveal what the artist was doing in Paris, but we could guess Paris Fashion Week has something to do with it.

The 29-year-old singer has found himself in repeated legal trouble ever since pleading guilty to the felony assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Though Brown completed his probation for that case in 2015, he has continued to have run-ins with the law since the incident.

In 2013, the musician was charged with misdemeanor assault after he was accused of striking a man in Washington, D.C. After being dismissed for violating rules at a rehab facility, Brown spent two and a half months in custody. He completed court-ordered anger-management classes, but was accused of throwing a brick at his mother’s car following a counseling session.

In Jan. 2018, the artist posted a picture of his daughter, who was posing with a pet monkey, to Instagram. California fish and wildlife agents seized the Capuchin monkey and he was charged with a misdemeanor for lacking a permit to have the animal in his home.

Besides the Paris rape accusation, the most recent legal trouble Brown encountered is a felony battery charge after being arrested at the end of a concert last year. (Floor8)
