Alleged N80bn fraud: Political losers can’t pitch Yahaya Bello against Tinubu — Analyst %Post Title

A public affairs analyst, Dr. Suleiman Eneye, has said that those who cannot achieve the uncommon performances and legacies of the former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, are hellbent to tarnish his hard-earned image.

Eneye, while reacting to a media publication on Saturday on the alleged embezzlement of funds by the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, as accused by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), described the former Governor as an undeniable champion, patriotic All Progressive Congress, (APC) member, strong pillar and defender of Nigeria democracy.

He eulogized Bello for his achievement in Kogi State,  describing him as  a responsible politician who knows his onions.

He said “Those fanning the embers of discord with President Tinubu and his political son are on a mission in futility. The unscrupulous elements responsible for the media publication cannot speak for President Bola Tinubu who is a democrat and a politician of repute.

“His excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, having congratulated Mr President when he emerged as the candidate of our Party the All Progressives Congress (APC),  went all out to sponsor,  canvass, campaign and mobilized heavily for the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 Presidential election.

“He also donated his campaign headquarters to Tinubu/Shettima Presidential organization. There is no room for discord anywhere as speculated by the media organization.

“On the Covid-19, it is unarguably clear that today His Excellency Yahaya Bello has rather been vindicated for standing firm in the defence of humanity and refusing to trade the lives of his people for any selfish gains. Has everything Yahaya Bello said about Covid-19 hadn’t come to pass?

“The word definition of leadership is honesty and  sincerity. In 2020, he advised the federal government during Covid-19 outbreak to stop shifting priorities when there are other more serious economic challenges confronting our nation. It was not an affront against the Federal Government but a stand for humanity rather in the best interests of both Federal, state Governments and the people of Nigeria.

“All the speculations which include the National Chairmanship rumuor and the unfounded EFCC media trials among others were orchestrated and fabricated by those who are afraid and threatened by the fast rising profiles, and the unprecedented achievements of Yahaya Bello.

“The EFCC saga was even more laughable.  How would EFCC who is supposed to be a sensitive, professional and respected institution be busy searching for a ghost  N20billion supposedly claimed to belong to the Kogi State  government which never existed anywhere.

“The same institution reportedly filed a new charge against his Excellency Yahaya Bello for allegedly diverting N80billion from Kogi State in September 2015 which was over four months early before he emerged as Governor on January 27, 2016.

“Isn’t this ridiculous against a supposedly reputable organization like EFCC? The commission should focus more on professional discharge on its mandate and trash some unfounded  petitions from unpatriotic   politicians who are hell bent to tarnish the image of His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

“His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has transformed Kogi State to enviable height ranging from his greatest achievement which is the security of lives and properties of its citizens. These include,  healthcare, educational,, agricultural, infrastructural, youth, women development and the equitable distributions of the resources of the state among numerous achievement evidence abounds.

“I therefore urge Nigerians and the people of Kogi State to beware  of falsehoods and media attacks in some media headlines against the personality of His Excellency Yahaya Bello by political losers and mischief makers who are afraid of rising profiles and legacies of Yahaya Bello”.
