Suspected bandits have killed two leaders of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association during an attack in Nasarawa State.

Mohammed Hussain, the chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Nasarawa State and Mohammed Umar, chairman of the group in Toto Local Government Area were murdered on Friday night in Garaku, Kokona LGA.

The tragic incident was confirmed in a statement issued by the stateโ€™s police spokesman, Ramham Nansel.

In the statement, the police said the unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani bandits attacked and killed the herders at about 7:00 p.m. on April 2.

โ€œOn 2/4/2021 at about 7pm, information was received that unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani bandits attacked and killed one Mohammed Hussaini, the Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Nasarawa State and Mohammed Umar, the Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Toto LGA at Garaku market.

โ€œUpon receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bola Longe swiftly deployed Operation Puff Adder II personnel to the scene where the two corpses were recovered and taken to the hospital,โ€ the statement read.

The spokesman further disclosed that the corpses have been deposited for post mortem examination at the Anthony Memorial Mortuary after the confirmation of their death by the medical doctor.
