Elders and stakeholders in Ekiti State have raised the alarm over the increase in the rate of ritual killings and kidnappings in the state. This is coming as the senior citizens described the scenario as deplorable; saying such is making life unbearable for the people.

The Elders’ Council in a statement yesterday signed by its Chairman, Prof. Joseph Oluwasanmi and the Secretary, Elder Niyi Ajibulu, called for the deployment of more security personnel and ensure effective patrol of the roads. It also advised the setting up of security checkpoints at identified black spots where the hoodlums have struck a number of times.

“The council admonishes all, like in the days of old, to shun those flaunting sudden wealth from unknown sources, to discourage ritual killers and Internet fraudsters. “The elders again called for communal cooperation and for a closer family relationship for support and monitoring of individual members.”
