The Lagos State Police Command late Thursday night arrested Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, better known as Sam Larry over an ongoing investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of popular entertainer, Mohbad.
Confirming the arrest, Spokesman of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin said: “Balogun Olamilekan Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with ongoing investigation.”
However, details have emerged on how the popular music promoter was arrested.
A police source revealed that Sam Larry was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Thursday evening.
“Sam Larry was arrested at the airport after he arrived from Kenya. Our officers arrested him at the airport and he was immediately taken to the state police headquarters for questioning,” the source told Punch newspaper.
Singer Naira Marley and Sam Larry have been on the lips of Nigerians since Mohbad passed away.
Sam Larry became indicted after a video of him bullying Mohbad surfaced on social media.
Naira Marley was also accused of threatening Mohbad.
They have both denied the accusations but police and Nigerians insisted that thorough investigation will be carried out to uncover circumstances surrounding the sudden death of Mohbad.
