Former President Donald Trump’s 2024 White House campaign announced on Wednesday that he had raised $7 million since being indicted on federal charges last week.

This comes as his narrative of political persecution continued to resonate with ardent fans.

“President Trump Raises Over $6.6 Million and Counting Since Deranged Jack Smith Announced Political Prosecution,” Trump’s campaign said in an email to supporters on Wednesday, referring to the US special counsel investigating him.

Over $4.5 million was raised through digital fundraising, while $2.1 million was raised at a donor luncheon on Tuesday at Trump’s Bedminster Club in New Jersey.

His spokeswoman later indicated that donations had surpassed the $7 million mark since the indictment was announced on Thursday.

He has attempted to portray the claims as a Democratic-led effort to knock him out of the 2024 race, with the ultimate goal of hurting Republicans, 30% of whom are regarded diehard Trump supporters.

“They’re not coming after me; they’re coming after YOU, Trump said in one of several fundraising emails sent out on Wednesday.

According to polling, his tactic is working. About 81% of Republicans feel the charges are politically motivated.

He allegedly benefited financially from accusations in New York related to hush money made to a porn star. According to senior adviser Jason Miller, his campaign raised $7 million in three days.
