I was caught because my native bullet proof failed me – Teenage robber
A teenage armed robber, Sodiq Oyedokun, has said that he was caught because his bullet proof and anti-arrest vest meant to make him disappear from crime scenes failed.
The teenager said this when he was paraded alongside 20 others by the South West Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun.
During the parade on Tuesday in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Oyedokun said: “My father gave the vest to me.
“I kept it in our house since it was given to me.
“The bullet proof vest failed me because I ought to have disappeared from the scene of the operation.
“I don’t know why the vest failed me.
“I was expected to have disappeared and not arrested at the scene when the Amotekun personnel stormed the venue of the operation.”
