Lagos council chairpersons congratulate Tinubu %Post Title

The Chairmen of the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Developmental Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State on Thursday congratulated Sen. Bola Tinubu on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The chairmen, under the aegis of Conference 57, congratulated Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, in a statement issued in Ikorodu.

The statement was jointly signed by Mr Kolade Alabi, Chairman of Conference 57 and Mr Sesan Daini, Publicity Secretary.

The council chairman thanked all the party delegates for their support for Tinubu at the just-concluded APC convention.

“We In the Conference 57 of Lagos State hereby express our hearty congratulations to our Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the most deserved victory as the Presidential flag bearer of our party, All Progressives Congress.

“We also use this opportunity to express our gratitude to all delegates from our jurisdiction for their unflinching support and assured Nigerians of a renewed hope for democratic rejuvenation and economic resurrection in our country.

“We hereby assure all that the victory of our Asiwaju is the victory of all Nigerians and a renewed hope for democratic rejuvenation and economic resurrection in our country,”

“We hereby call on all not to rest on our oars until the final victory is attained.

“Once again, congratulations sir and thank you all,” they said.

Tinubu defeated 13 other aspirants, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at the party convention to clinch the party’s ticket for the 2023 presidential election.

The former governor polled 1,271 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Rotimi Amaechi,a former Minister of Transportation,who got 316 votes.

Osinbajo garnered 235 votes to emerge third in the keenly contested primary which featured 23 aspirants, with nine withdrawing from the race before the contest commenced.
