Man beats wife to death over her refusal to hand over a property she built in her name to him
Police operatives of the Ogun State Police Command, have arrested a man identified as Segun Ebenezer, for reportedly beating his wife, Bukola, to death over her refusal to hand over a primary school she built in her name to him.
According to the statement signed by the police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect had a quarrel over the property with the deceased which led to him beating her to death.
However, unknown to him, the deceased sent out a voice note to her relatives via WhatsApp before her untimely death, stating that her husband should be held responsible if anything happens to her.
The statement reads, “Unknown to the suspect, the deceased had sent a voice note to her family members, informing them that her husband had used a padlock to hit her on the head while beating her and that if she died, they should be aware that it was her husband that killed her.
“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed the suspect be transferred to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.”
