The management of Ahmadu Bello University has reacted to the decision of a 300 Level student of the institution, Aisha Omolola Abdulganiyu, to commit suicide.

Abdulganiyu in the early hours of Thursday was found dead after taking snipper.

A suicide note by the female student blamed her parents for her decision to cut short her life.

Reacting the the development on its Twitter handle, the management of ABU said: “In retrospect to the saddening event we witnessed, we have some things to say.

“We all have two lives. D second life starts the moment we realize we only have one.

Suicide doesn’t end the chances of life getting worse, it eliminates the possibility of it ever getting any better.

“Most things in life tend to get difficult before they get easy.

“To anyone out there who’s hurting, it’s not a sign of weakness to ask for help. It’s a sign of strength. What then is the point of having friends and loved ones if you cannot put out your problem to them.

“The longer we dwell on our misfortunes, the greater is their power to harm us

“Dear young people, no matter the headship, frustration, loneliness or depression you’re going through, suicide should never be an option. Speak to someone for help! Value your life.”
