Liverpool football club of England star, Mohamed Salah, has sent out a strong message on the need for religious tolerance in societies with the donation of $156,634, which is equivalent to three million Egyptian dollars to help rebuild a church in Giza, Egypt, where a fire killed 41 people last Sunday.
The gesture is coming at a time Nigeria is dealing with a myriad of issues that has to do with religious extremism.
It was reported that no fewer than 41 people died in a fire incident that happened over the weekend at a 1,000-capacity church in Egypt where worshippers gathered.
CNN reported via their official website that at least 18 children died when the fire incident broke out due to electrical fault, which happened at an air-conditioning unit.
According to the report from Ontime Sports, Salah has donated three million Egyptian dollars to the church and it is believed to be $156,634.
Salah was born in Nagrig in Northern Egypt, and he is not a stranger in rendering help to the less privileged in Egypt, Africa and England.
The Sunday Times reported that Salah is among the most generous footballers and has given out the sum of £2.5 million recently, and that’s equivalent to six per cent of his £41 million wealth.
