Detectives at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, Alagbon, Lagos have arrested Henry Nwabueze for allegedly using the AIG FCID Annex office to facilitate his unlawful activities.

It was learned that Nwabueze, a tenant occupying a flat in Thomas Estate, Ajah, since 2018, was arrested following a petition by a law firm, Lyke Agwu and Co. Law Firm on behalf of one Alphonso Oham.

According to the spokesperson for the FCID, Mayegun Aminat, “Nwabueze in his confessional statement, affirmed to have defaulted on his rent payments since 2018 till date, leading to legal proceedings initiated at the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court on February 6, 2024.

“During a court session at the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court, Nwabueze, accompanied by an individual identified as Mr Francis, coerced Oham into settling the matter out of court.

“Subsequently, Nwabueze demanded N2 million to resolve the issue, citing purported costs incurred.
“In a disconcerting turn of events, the investigation revealed that Nwabueze had orchestrated a scheme to extract funds from Oham under false pretence.

“He deceived Oham into paying N1.5 million into a certain Umar Fatima account, purportedly for some detectives at Alagbon to withdraw the case from court and an additional N2 million. This escalation prompted Oham‘s petition.”
